1. Departure from Ensenada
We begin our journey from TerraSur’s base in Ensenada, heading by van to the Ralún Sector—the gateway to the magical Reloncaví Estuary, the first fjord of Patagonia and the starting point of Chile’s southern region.

2. Arrival at Ralún & Safety Briefing
Upon arrival, we reach the area where the fresh waters of the Petrohué River meet the salt waters of the Pacific Ocean. Here, with the impressive Yate Volcano dominating the landscape, we receive a brief introduction to essential kayaking techniques and safety guidelines.

3. Start of Kayaking
We then begin paddling through the fjord, where the valley opens into a breathtaking scene. The Reloncaví Estuary reveals its monumental beauty: lush green forests, snow-capped mountains and volcanoes, crystal-clear streams and waterfalls, and diverse birdlife such as kingfishers, torrent ducks, and black cormorants.
